Jac and Cathy returned to Llys y Seren care home in Aberavon, Port Talbot on August 28th 2025 to make a film for UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) about how HUG was developed from the LAUGH research project.
Lls y Seren was home to Thelma, the very first person living with dementia to receive a HUG comforter. HUG had a profound impact – improving her health and quality of life. This led to further research with NHS, care companies, and an Alzheimer’s Society accelerator partnership to develop and manufacture the product.
It was great to be back at Llys y Seren and meet up again with old friends and introduce HUG to new ones!
